Who We Are

Brief History

The Tarcisian Adorers draw inspiration from the life and martyrdom of St. Tarcisius,

a twelve-year-old acolyte who carried the Eucharist to imprisoned Christians during the Roman persecutions of the third century. Despite being attacked by a mob, he refused to surrender the Eucharist and ultimately gave his life for his faith. His legacy as a boy-martyr of the Eucharist is honored and upheld by the Tarcisian Adorers, who are devoted to Eucharistic adoration and service.

Tracing back to History

The organization traces its roots to a significant event on October 9, 1920,

when a meeting was held at the Church of St. Ignatius in Intramuros, Manila. Participants prayed throughout the night and agreed to establish the organization the following day. This initiative was led by Rev. Fr. Victoriano Pascual, SJ, and Don Emilio Ma. Moreta, a devout parishioner. On October 10, 1920, during a high mass, Adoracion Nocturna Filipina (ANF) was officially founded. The first group, Turno No. 1, consisted of 80 members, with Rev. Fr. Victoriano Pascual, SJ, serving as the First Chaplain, Don Emilio Ma. Moreta as the Founder, and Bro. Francisco Munoz de Perez as the First Jefe de Turno. The organization rapidly expanded, forming multiple Turnos under the patronage of different saints. The entire ANF was placed under the protection of St. Paschal Baylon, the patron saint of all Eucharistic assemblies.

Establishment of Turnos

The establishment of the Tarcisian Adorers in Manila

was inspired by the amazement of the late Julio Cardinal Rosales y Ras at the fervent devotion of young boys to the worship of the Blessed Sacraments. Initially, the organization was limited to boys only, with members required to do Nocturnal Adoration. With increasing interest from younger men and boys, the first Tarcisian Turno was established in Manila on February 24, 1935, marking the birth of the Tarcisian Adorers. Later that year, on August 15, 1935, St. Tarcisius, Proto-martyr of the Eucharist, was officially declared as the Patron Saint of the organization.

Secondary Patron of the Tarcisian Adorers

Most Recently,

on August 17, 2024, at the Archdiocesan Shrine and Parish of St. James the Greater in Ibaan, Batangas, Blessed Carlo Acutis was officially adopted as the Secondary Patron of the Tarcisian Adorers, further inspiring young members to deepen their Eucharistic devotion through the example of his life.

Wear A Veil Campaign

also referred to as "WAVE Camp" is the promotion of the Chapel Veil, to encourage women especially the sister-adorers to wear the veil every time they enter the church, in Mass and in Adoration.
